VRCAI 2019 promises to usher in even greater engagement with emerging players and industry leaders within stabilising markets, greatly expanding 17 years of established industry-academia led developments within the spectrum of the Virtual Reality Continuum (VRC). This, in view of the VR and AR investments last year within the two major markets (USA and China) have seen a total of US$7.2 billion, with over US$4. billion invested in computer vision/AR technologies, US$1 billion in smart glasses, and US$400 million in games (Digi-Capital data). VRCAI 2019 aims to showcase emerging products and real-world applications from across the VR, AR and XR (extended reality) industries from core hardware and software technologies to critical applications, and from critical use cases to active users in our range of extended abstracts, corporate communications articles and talks.

The VRCAI Industry Programme solicits both technical and application articles from both the academia and industry. Our scope is broad, covering the entire spectrum of the Virtual Reality Continuum. We welcome state-of-the-art works in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), and any development and applications of Extended Reality (XR) to our programme. The VRCAI Industry Programme seeks to provide a forum from which corporations, start-ups, researchers, developers and users in both the industry and academia may discuss ideas and share experiences, and from which the dissemination of best practices may lead to strategies for advancing our field.

VRCAI has a special programme welcoming industry submissions, these may be within one of the following categories:

  • Extended abstracts/Short corporate communications articles (2-3 pages).] Articles will be included as part of company proceedings.
  • Industry Talks [throughout the programme – to start the day] [Talks by prominent industry people – host a few more talks, to connect with sponsorships]
